Health and Safety at Work Act starts Monday

After a long consultation process and lead in time, the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 comes into force on Monday 4 April. This replaces the 1992 health and safety legislation, and implements the policy priorities established after a Royal Commission into Pike River, and an independent taskforce on workplace health and safety.

The Worksafe NZ website has some useful fact sheets that explain some of the key changes.

The Safer Farms website is a key resource for farming specific advice on health and safety generally including the requirements of the new Act.
