Expressions of interest open for $3.3 million Low Nitrogen Land Use Fund

This fund is part of the $5.5 million set aside to assist landowners with reaching their pNDA and meeting the requirements of proposed Plan Change 10. The objective of the fund is to support land use change in the Lake Rotorua Catchment. It will do this by funding research which provides land owners access to useful and practical information that is relevant to the catchment.
There are 3 focus areas of research for the fund:

  1. How to promote additional uptake of proven existing low nitrogen land uses or farm systems in the catchment.
  2. How existing low nitrogen land uses or farm systems can be applied to conditions in the Lake Rotorua catchment
  3. The potential of new low nitrogen land uses or farm systems to be adopted in the Lake Rotorua catchment

How to apply
Expressions of interests are open from 6th May – 20th May 2016. An expert assessment panel will consider these expressions of interest for the subsequent full application process.
